Diversification Dilemma at Shree Niketan School

Introduction
P Vishnucharan (Vish) was deep in thought as he went back home after a hectic but satisfying day at work at his newly-established school in Thiruvallur. His longstanding dream of setting up a school of world standards at Thiruvallur had come true with the establishment of Shree Niketan Matriculation Higher Secondary School in 2006.
The school, set up in five years, was run under the Tamil Nadu State Board (Matriculation). It had accomplished set goals and catered to the needs of the neighborhood as well. But Vish realized that there was also the need for world class CBSE education in the town.

Thiruvallur, situated 42 km north-west of Chennai, was the administrative headquarters of Thiruvallur district and a rapidly growing industrial hub. The Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) had drafted a second master plan that aimed to develop Thiruvallur as a satellite township around Chennai city. In the first master plan, it was envisaged that adequate infrastructure would be provided to relieve congestion in the metropolis and better housing facilities made available at an affordable cost to encourage development of Thiruvallur into a satellite town.....
